EARLY 1900s PHILCO BATTERY JAR

A hard to come by early 1900s glass battery jar mady by PHILCO. With really cool company logo acid etched on both sides reads PHILCO with a electray ray acroos the name.  Philco started making batteries like this as early as 1906 for electric vehicles !!! This was most likely a 6 volt battery 2 volt on each compartment.  Heavy and thick glass, with bubbles and stretch lines, great for terrarium or flower vase too.

19TH C. COFFIN SHAPED RELIQUARY.

 A very rare and hard to find  late 19th century, church coffin shaped reliquary, display box. Made out of solid oak with hand carved details and glass panes, some of them older wavy glass. Comes with key and working lock.  Pretty large size for a piece like this.

A  stunning French Art-Deco dining set comprising of double pedestal table and 6 chairs. Red velvet upholstered chairs with lines in the manner of Rhulmann. Both table and chairs made in solid limed oak. France, 1940s.

19th C. VENETIAN CAST IRON MERMAID BED. 

Sleep tight

A fantastic late 19th century Venetian bed, cast iron head and foot-board with amazing mermaid figures, legs in the shape of mythological fish. Early rope support system for mattress, this is where “sleep tight” comes from , the mattress would sag and a very uncomfortable night sleep if the rope wasn’t tight before going to sleep.  Regular wooden slats can be placed instead of the rope.

Dimensions: 75” long x 38” wide. Head-board is 59” tall.
